Hi Cuajete. Yes David, some nice little details in the cockpit. I might add the pilots for this one. They are not bad. Shame they dont have a different 'pose'.

Tim Heimer
Hey Mike, unless you add another front wing to that, it will stand out in your collection! LOL! Still nice work!

Thanks Timothy and David. Yes, it sure is bright that day-glow!! Just trying to match the real plane, which you need sunglasses to look at!! Shame about the Extreme metal.

Nearly finished. Just a few flaps to add. Those deep panel lines made all the difference for the pin wash. Nice one Airfix!

Well done so far, Mike 👍

Looks great Mike!

Thankyou Cuajete and Timothy. Turned out alright. No real problems. The undercarriage decals are a bit over size and tricky. Will try and tuck them in with the top coat of gloss varnish.

Thanks a lot David. I am very tempted to have a go at the Vampire FB Mk.5.

Great work. More pics, please!
As to the Azur kid, I am tempted (very) too. 🙂

@Mike i build both kits, and i must say that i liked the azur one a bit better than the airfix one. be sure to get the nose weight right tough or you get a tailsitter like i did. ;P

Oh and be careful about the decals. Mine were really thin and broke when i apllied them. plus they really silvered alot on the dark blue. in retrospect, it would have been better to cut them out properly.

Thankyou Ekki. More pics on the way.
Hi David. Yes I saw that in your gallery. Very nice job. Thanks for the advice. I will look out for those decals.

The airfix is also a tail sitter but they do tell you to add 7 grams in the nose. Probably doesent need that much really. A bit of a job stuffing it all in!!

Thanks alot Mike, i will look forward to your build! Did you decide on which option you will build? i was really torn between the one i did in the end and the green one.

Hi there Lukasz Glinski. I dont think it does look better than yours - which is very nice indeed.

The only real difference is the high gloss varnish which helps to saturate the colour a bit more. Great collection you have there.

Thankyou very much Bernhard Pethe, Choppa Nutta and Ekki.

A lovely little kit this. And those deep panel lines made pin-washing a breeze. Not sure that will be the case on my latest build.

Łukasz Gliński
Thx Mike, you may be correct on the varnish. I tried Citadel satin (canned) on this one, but I don't recommend it at all. Maybe one day I'll build another one? Swedish & Jordanian camos tempt me a bit😉

Will you call it 'Rudolf' ?

Great job Mike 👍

Łukasz, in the new box you have one swedish scheme, some different to "Rudolf" 😄

Hi Olly. Yes, yes very apt. I like that!
Thank you very much Martin.
I like the look of that one Cuajete!

Airfix have been turning out some great new kits lately- several of which are residing in my cupboard waiting to be built - Phantom FG.1 1/72, Walrus 1/48, BE2C 1/72...

Hi Łukasz Gliński. I use Vallejo varnishes. They are great. And diluted with a little water hardly leave brush marks at all. Not sure if they are available for spray painting ?(i would expect so). Are you tempted with the Airfix swedish scheme ? I am.
18 September 2018, 11:46
Łukasz Gliński
In my case hard to decide which one is more tempting - Airfix Swedish or PrintScale's Jordanian. But as I have already the Irish on the shelf, I decided to take some time before building another one, the current stash is too big probably😉
