Exhusts were painted in Vallejo Chocolate Brown, some AK Light Rust Wash, AK Ochre Rust pigments over the wash, some diluted Diluted AK Rust Streaks in the external side of the exhaust and finally AK Burned Grease pigments in the inside

Looks great! less is more in terms of weathering indeed. Its more about the layering of the effects to acchieve a realistic look.
