Scottish: Can you explain? My references shows that the P51's had polished unpainted body with silver painted wings to improve airflow... Do you mean they where foiled?

Sorry, no I was just asking what paint brand you were using as the result is so good. I thought you might have been using bare metal foil it was so shiny.

Oh, misunderstood. The paint is Vallejo's metal series . Very good and waterbased!

Outstanding, I was guessing Alclad, thanks

nice result indeed. have you done any masking over it? i am curious. I like alclad, but the chance of using an acrylic pain is quite a temptation...

Yes I have done masking, using Tamiya masking tape, and thats no problem, currently working on some panels and has done the antiglare. See updated picture. I really enjoy not using lacker based paint. This is my first atempt with The Vallejo Metal and I am impressed so far
