I used an older Tamiya kit which hat Zimmerit included but replaced it with an Atak kit. See this project Panther G Earth with Zimmerit | Project by MightyLance (1:35)

In my experience it was easy to use. Parts can break quite easily when cutting out of the sheet, but given time and mood, you can minimize this. Some ca glue or putty might helps later on. 🙂 Some parts were complex to cut out, especially the upper hull parts with cut-outs for drive elements. I was not able to cut out round edges in the resin parts, so I had to use a knife and filed the curves later, which is quite an effort, but no Problem. I glued it with normal Tamiya PE glue, which usually is not for resin, but it worked well for me. Cutting off seams and filing it to fit the model was easy. I had some gaps between two zimmerit parts when they met at an edge, especialley on the turret glacis, which I filled with thinned putty. Attention: this can fill up the zimmerit pattern quite easily, I had to wash off excess putty with a lot of thinner. 🙂 After all, it was a charm to work with the Atak stuff. Compared to photo-etched Zimmerit, I will always opt for Atak.
