HL42 TRM (based on SKP Model TRKM)

Album image #1
This is the engine with the gearbox, in the SdKfz 250 the 42TRKM would have both, engine and gearbox and transmission in one line, here it is offset, due to the location of the engine, this requires major modifications.

Album image #2
I have added the fuel lines and some oil pipes... And the belt to power the fan in the front

Album image #3
Crude engine in the bay... Note that Trumpeter has some random pieces built in here, which must be rubbish.

Continued a bit with the WT. Problem with the ammo storage in the hull has yet to be sovled. Trumpeter ignores commn sense and physics by having an ammo storage that does not allow the removal of ammo at all...Has anyone done this kit before by any chance?

Well, it is an unusual thing, though quite a few were built! I have not seen many built, none with any interior... which is sad, it is quite nice.

Your level of detail... is my kind of thing! I try to find some info, net or books, but unfortunately no luck. I will be following this project also with great interest. You rock! 😄

Paulo, thanks. Well, I am stuck with the ammo storage atm and the BR52 has priority. Will have some major updates later^^

looks like the racks in that stowage bin need to be raised to the roof of the compartment, but i can't see very well.

also, i looks like flipping them around would put them in line with the opening better.

Great scratch in that motor and interiors, Blaubar 👍
I'm going to check in my library for relative info.

Stanly, thx for the input and Rui S for the lookup. I will post some CAD designs now. (A friend designed them basen on our discussion some months ago...)
Stanley, they need to be this way round as technical drawings show them this way round 🙁

The basic design would not work, as there is not enough space for it, the second one would not get all ammo out and as such the "best/latest" design is what we were thinking of implementing. (A spring design along the vertical support bars which could swing left right maybe...) We wanted to modify this a bit to make it similar to the one in the floor ammo bins of the Tiger I. Unsure....

Hi Blaubar,
As promised I've found some info about the Waffenträger Pak 43.
You can see it in my MT4 album:
I hope that you enjoy it and that help's in some way.
If I Find something more I will post here:

Morning. Thanks big time Rui. Unfortunately I do have all of them already xD except for the second one. That will come in handy later

Hi Blaubar,
If you don't have, even if it is a single one, that's enough for rewarding my efforts😎

that little d shaped space at the right side of the opening looks like a spacer that if it were on the other side would line up the rounds for the opening better. I've not got the kit in front of me, but that's just intuition.

after looking at kit instructions, my solution would have been to seal the compartment up as i can't get the shells in after it's painted. But looking for actual solutions i can have you look up my album for the academy tiger interior. i scratch built those shell racks from plastic card. the kit only comes with the top row of ammo and i put the two/three more rows in because i thought it felt stupid.

Stanley, I will do so, thx. I scratch built some for my two tiger I interiors also. In the end I might just keep the hatches shut, but it feels like defeat^^. Doing some train construction first though^^.

Hi Blaubar,
1 Photo was rewarding, but I didn't got satisfied. 🙁
As said, "If I Find something more I will post".
Unfortunately I can't go to Kubinka museum so, here is a Christmas souvenir for you:

I hope that this time I can help a bit more than the first time, especially with photo 79.
Best wishes for all my Mates 😎
