Hi Bart, what are your concerns with the paint job?

It looks good to me 👍 but the pictures are a tad dark so it's a little bit hard to make out the detail.

Ah yes! I see your point now 😉

You did the camo pattern free-hand, right?

You really need to do some masking if you want to be able to get the same semi-hard edge camouflage as in the drawing.

It's a pretty small scale 😉 so any kind of airbrushed edge, even with very thin needles, is going to look to wide really fast because of the feathering of the edge. The feathering really can only be prevented by using a mask.

In fact, I am in the exact same boat as you with the German WWII PaK38 I'm working on right now. I will need to use Panzer Putty to be able to get the semi-hard edge on the anti-tank gun.

And the thing is, the thinner the mask, the harder the edge. For instance, if you use paper / tape as a mask, the edge will be razor sharp. That's not what you need in this case. And that's why I am using the Panzer Putty because I can make the mask as thick as I want, thus, the edge as feathered as I want 🙂

There's a section in this video that shows what I mean (at 2:20) : Youtube Video

I hope this helps? 🙂 👍

@ john, it lasted a while, didn't have time for modelism... seems like a fun product, did't see it yet here in Belgium or in one of the internetshops... I followed you guys (and the members of the club) about the camo and left it as it was. on to the finish...
