Hello, maybe a stupid question, but could you please shortly explain this technique in picture 5 please?
8 October 2012, 20:18
Wilfried Bogaerts
Ahaaaaa the sausage technique !! 🙂
8 October 2012, 20:25
Ronan
It's not a stupid question.
So, you begin by applying the basic color.
Then you place the pieces of patafix according to the plan of camouflage which you wish to make.
Then with your airbrush follow the outlines of the patafix always at the same distance of the model. It creates a realistic demarcation for the scale (not too vague, not too sharp), then it does not more remain than to fill spaces.
I will add a picture of the model after applying the second colour.

Hmm, The patafix stuff still sticks very much to my surfaces! What do you use for The groundprime? Klear? Clear coat? Future? Gloss varnish from Gunze? Tamiya clear gloss?

Ronan
I am maybe going to amaze you but I never use primary color.
After a micromesh polishing operation, i paint directly on the model the lighter colour. I only apply a "klear "cote before and after decals .

Hello Ronan! Did you use two different kits?
9 October 2012, 14:50
Ronan
Hello Harry, yes of course; That's why there are two colours of styrene. The nose is from the wess*x uh5 and the tail is from the uh-34;
