It was a stabilized camera system. It was an idea David Bloom had that was realized by some NBC camera crew. Mr Bloom would ride in the M—88 with Camera and a couple of short range antennas. A Ford F-350 with a large sat dish is protective sphere would follow a couple kilometers behind, receive the broadcast from the M-88 and then shoot that to a Satellite for NBC to broadcast. That is how they did live on the go reports. Quite a breakthrough at the time.

I figured it was some kind of camera thing. This is an interesting bit of history, and your build came out great! You could consider updating the teaser photos to one of the shots of the finished vehicle.

Thanks it was built for commission for NBC War Correspondent Memorial vack around 2004. I'll see about changing the photo.
