The windows had sinkholes and had to be sanded in shape and polished. Top treated, bottom untreated

Album image #30
not good

Album image #31
much better

Album image #32
For some reason Zvezda mismatched some windows. Might be a version issue, anyway for my airplane I had to "remove" two windows and drill another one

Album image #33
main gear doors, kit and PE

Album image #34
front

Album image #35
made the engine nozzle from a metal tube

Album image #36
I use wire end sleeves which come in different diameters

Album image #37
retractable landing lights

Album image #38
made from some spare PE rings and Eduard reflectors, at the top a droplet of UV glue

Album image #39
APU exhaust from metal tube

Album image #40
added some antennas and small details

Album image #41
preshading with Tamiya black panel wash

Album image #42
Album image #43
mixed a fitting blue shade for the blue ribbons

Album image #44
which I like to paint myself

Album image #45
Coincidentally the wheel masks were a perfect match for the silver ring around the windows!

Album image #46
even the number matched with a spare one

The antenna spike at the top had to be modified and lenghtened with a piece of syringe needle because the kit one depicted an earlier version

Fabulous! 👍 How's the kit btw?

Ahhh, that's the way a 134 has to look like. Convincing weathering, nice color variation and fine details.

Thanks a lot, mates. Łukasz, the kit is very fine as all Zvezda's airliner kits except the kit decal that has got a yellow tint but I did not use it anyway

Thx, good to know, it's on the shopping list. I don't care about the OOB decals neither. 🙂
Wow, masking over decals, brave you! (I already regretted it couple of times)

"masking over decals" oh you have no idea how many times I stepped on this rake 😄 I "bathed" the decals in several layers of future, also with the idea in mind to get rid of the decal film edges. I think it happens when you enthusiastically pull the mask off to see the result and rip the decal off. You have to keep it in mind and be veeeery careful

With the WIP pictures I like it even better.

Seriously nice and precise work in 144-scale - particularly the details around the windows - this would be good in 72-scale (at least) - and still not a very big model there... lovely 👍

An unbelievable level of details and realism! I agree Slavo: looks like 1:72! Chapeau!!

thx guys!

Bernhard, I actually stumbled upon your build on Modellversium from 10 years ago. Don`t you think it`s time for another airliner? 😉

Alexander, when you wrote that my Tupolev is ten years old, I didn't want to believe it. I looked at Modelversium… It's even 11 years! Incredible how time flies! I checked here and there at SCM and found f.e. that my SeaSprite is nine years old!!! Incredible.
Yes: you are right. It is time to build another airliner. Do you have an idea? Maybe we could do a groupbuild? Cheers Bernhard

An airliner GB? Sounds interesting 👍

May I suggest an Il-62 from Interflug?

The grassy one perhaps? (Sorry for OT) 😉

An airliner groupbuild? Hell yeah I'm in. Question is how precise we define the topic "airliner". Just airliner in general or do we want to focus at a specific era/type/class etc? Ideas for categories:

early jets
trijet airliners (I'll do 1011 Tristar 😛)
turboprop
some fancy liveries

Crusty Creme indeed! Love the engine work, Alexander.
I don't do airliners (used to 144th)…I still think the shape of a Comet Mk.I and the SA Caravelle are class!

Alexander Grivonev
Thx Andy! Seems like we are narrowing down the topic to early jets?

My proposal would be to pick up as wide approach as possible, so my Pinkie could count 😋
