As a ´ol Phantom phan, i phinally got the kit. The decals look superb but Revell, why blue sprues? My eyes bleed just from looking at them...

maybe to help novice modelers that don't use primers or use only brush.

I think we can be happy that the clear parts are not in red or blue... 😄

nice colour scheme ! 🙂
total trivia but interesting to note that there are 648 Phantom kits from 63 different manufacturers ...
one popular aircraft design ! 😄
It seems only two other designs have had more kits made than the Phantom with 872 and 834 respectively 🙂

The Revell F-4 is really good, but the best is probably still the Hasegawa kit - even its a little bit more complex.

I love both - Pantom and Tornado. Really cool kits for really cool prize. More of this please Revell! Just like the He-177 for example!

Revell has indeed some nice kits, but sadly they are doing not so much currently as Airfix with all of their new tooled releases over the last 2 years.
I hope that this will change some day and we will see a lot more of new nice kits from Revell!

Correct Holly & Lukasz 🙂
Spitfire, Bf109 and then the Phantom 😄
Seems the Panavia Tornado has "only" 190 kits in the database, which is still rather a lot 😉
yeah it's nice to see both Revell and Airfix upping their game, although bear in mind that Revell has just paid for a renewed Star Wars license recently so that might effect their new releases and toolings schedule etc. perhaps anyway, this is merely my speculation of course 🙂

Yes, at Revell they dare to come re-release a old 'misformed' kit e.g. the 727-100

the only differencce on the outside is that the F4F doesn't have the slotted stabilo's and due to the simplified avionics it was not capable of wearing Sparrows.

It would also depend on which F-4E you are talking about, because there was more than 1 "F-4E" depending on time period, build blocks, and upgrades. Even that sample photo linked to shows an F-4E with slatted wings and ARN upgrade on the spine ahead of the tail,,,,and the long Midas gun muzzle.

a lot off, rebuilding, retrofitting and upgrading has been done on all variants off the F-4 so the best is to have photo reference of the A/C that you are going to build.
