wondering if an aires set designed for the hasegawa off would fit

The bug kit have many issues when the parts are joining together. Especially the intakes inside and at the bottom external side are like you took parts from a different kit and you are trying to glue them together.
Also the joining of the fuselage with the fuselage cone is a real drama.
but meng bug is much much better at any aspect.

Not allowed to build until you got the damn Priest ready!

The bug is not on my actual building-list! So no worries😢

So, i unpacked it and must say: Great kit, still a lot to do and to buy, but i never saw such a giantific decalsheet with such a superb quality! It even smells wonderful!

Actually just got this one in the mail last week myself. Looking forward to it. Great detail for revell, and 1/3 the price of the Has kit.

Hey Phil, at first i´ve got to buy some aftermarketstuff! The kit is not bad but a new cockpit is necessary!
19. March 2012, 17:42
Holger Kranich
@Nick: I think this is a good kit at all, so you are right! But what do you think about the cockpit? Would you replace it, too or are you going to do some scratchbuild?
19. March 2012, 18:19
Nick Williamson
It doesn't look too bad as is. Great for Revell standards especially with the added decals but i could also justify purchasing an afternarket cockpit. But thats probably all id replace since its relatively new tooling.

Aftermarket resin cockpits are addictive. You can't just buy one. Ask me how I know.

The easier (but not necessarily cheaper) alternative is a Color Zoom PE fret from Uncle Eduard. At least you don't have to paint all the instruments.

Nick Williamson
I second that. Im troubled at times because i love the details but also like the awesome look of a well painted co kpit

Thx for your comments, guy´s! For me its no question to buy a new cockpit because i´d like to build this bug with an open canopy...
