Looking really good so far, thats the meng kit right?
29. May, 22:54

Exact
I am waiting to conclude this assembly before adding the photo album to the project

Daniel
ok, why that? Its easier to find for people interested in construction of this new kit if added to the project -> like me 😉 So what do you think about construction? Do things fit into things?
2. June, 18:58
Juskifo
yeah it's true you're right it allows you to better appreciate the quality especially if it's a novelty.
this is my 5th assembly of a plane so can experimented but to compare with this listing:
_Hobbyboss F14D 1/48
_Tamiya F16cj 1/72
_Revell Su27 1/72
_Revell Typhoon eurofighter 1/48
the Meng kit is easy to assemble, there are even ergos to fit the parts
3. June, 11:05
Daniel
after the revell typhoon you sure know what a not-easy-to-assemble kit is 😉
3. June, 17:16
Juskifo
Indeed this one gave me a hard time😅 I saw that you built it too
3. June, 22:53
Daniel
Beautiful work with the wash and with the nozzles👌🏻 I think theres a real beauty developing on your bench!
What's your choice of Metallics?
I did build the italeri typhoon which also comes in a certain revell boxing, but the real revell typhoon is still waiting in my stash. Only heard it's not the most brilliant piece of engineering 😉

It's cool and encouraging but I still have a lot to learn especially from you when I see the pre-shading you did on the Revell super hornet or when I see the weathering job on the trumpeter kit
On the high visibility version vfa 31, I interpreted a slight weathering knowing that
on a low visibility the aging is more pronounced I think.
From memory the metallic paint on the nozzles is: vallejo 77723 exhaust manifold for the manifolds and X32 Titanium silver for the nozzle outlets. I added touches of oil paint to even it all out. The Typhoon Revell will require work on top of the fuselage but maybe it's me who is poorly prepared for the assembly.

Not so modest, I think your approach nails the clean look of the original and is still interesting to look at 👍
12. June, 08:04
Juskifo
I saw you use Ak rc paints
My question: in your opinion is there a big difference in color with Mr hobby or Tamiya paints?
Example: fs36270 and fs36375

Seems like you're progressing at a good pace, considering a complicated kit.

I imagine that one will be represented in flight !?
3. June, 22:58
Daniel
Jep, after all the tedious sanding I am now in the lane and making good progress, no landing gear is also a huge time saver.
Gonna stick this on a pole in a steep climb, this looks cool + saves the most horizontal space. Still plenty of vertical space left in my little room here...
6. June, 10:06
Roland Gunslinger
Really nice progress 👍 For my big F-14 I am also playing with the idea of exhibiting it in the "vertical climb" position. Looks 😎

Impressive! I have the same single-seater in my stash. Did you use the AIM-9X from the kit? I bought Eduard's Brassin AIM-9X kit, looks like a great improvement over the kit one.
27. May, 08:41
Daniel
Thx! The aim 9x in the box are a joke ... sadly the eduard replacement was not yet released when I built this so I butchered the kit ones into a new shape
(somewhere at the start of the WIP album)

just wow
this is the most beautiful super hornet Rhino that I have seen in a scale model🤩
I finish mine at 1/48 and it will be difficult for me to do as well as you.
Well done👏

Many thanks for your very kind words Neuling and Juskifo😊detailed weathering gets easier with the size of the plane 🙂

That's why I like them as well. I don't have a dedicated air-brushing area, so it's just not practical to use enamels inside. The MMP paints lay down and dry unbelievably flat (like an enamel) and currently have a pretty good range of colours as well. Will be making them my first choice once I've used up my Tamiya's, AK's and MiG's etc.

Give them a try Donald, well worth a look
20. May, 20:01
Clifford Keesler
I agree with James. They are rapidly becoming my go to paint as well. I also like the fact they come in 1oz bottles not 1/2 oz, or 10ml or 17ml.

Nathan Dempsey
I have purchased some, but I have yet to use it. It was the only RAF desert pink I could find at the time. 😁

Well, I horded MM paints for the last year or so, so I have plenty for now. Once I run out or need a specific color I may give them a go.
22. May, 01:24
Clifford Keesler
What paints do you use now Donald? Enamels or laquers. I do not quite understand the difference between the various types of laquers. I have a bunch of AK real colors but have not used any of them, as I am not sure what to thin them with. Do you use Mf. Leveling thinner?, if so how is it? Would like to try it, if I can ever find any in stock anywhere. Would you use it with AK real colors and Alclad's?
