Glenn . Hi Katya, Welcome to Scalemates! Just a word of warning! If you do buy from HLJ be careful not to order too many things! As they will ZAP the money straight from a credit card when in stock, Without any warning! (you link) or from Paypal when you set up a account! But sometimes quite a few things arrive very close to each other so you will have to watch out for the charges on your account and keep funds ready to purchase! It happens to me quite often! But you can pay and store things with them for up to 60 days before you need to ship them. That way you can combine the postage costs a bit to make it a bit cheaper to ship! By the way i like your models! cheers Glenn

Katya Hodgson Yep, I have been making sure I have paypal balance ready for when the items release.
Only thing I have to worry about is the customs fees when they arrive...

Glenn . Oh yea customs fees! It's funny over here (downunder) in Australia, they recently changed tax on any items over $1000Aud now to anything of any value to be charged 10% tax. Some shops like HLJ will collect it also Ebay does other shops overseas don't bother to collect it. And the government is not bothering to enforce it either! So it doesn't make any difference for my purchases from most places! Go figure? How much do they charge you over there for importing items then? I know some places it's very high and not worth buying anything from overseas. I don't mind paying it if i get the items much cheaper or if it's something i can't source locally.

Katya Hodgson A Lot. We have to pay VAT to customs on top of anything from outside EU that's over £15 (used to be over £18, I got stung by that recently) and then even after that Royal Mail slap a "handling fee" on it. Wouldn't be surprised if I ended up paying close to £30 for these two I have ordered at the moment.
Katya Hodgson Yeah, sadly don't really have a choice, as there are a lot of kits you just can't get in the EU. (Like the Girls und Panzer ones, or the Space Battleship Yamato ones).

Glenn . Yea i know if it's Japanese it's always a bit hard to get hold of. A friend of mine runs a hobby shop over here in Melbourne called Gundam Plus so he gets quite a lot of special items in from Japan. But i find most of the items i want i always end up importing myself either from Hannants or Aviation MegaStore or HLJ or Lucky Model in Hong Kong or even from the Ukraine and Russia. I spend too much time tracking down and buying stuff to make anything these days plus my collection is getting a little big! Damn internet!
