Comments

Dwayne Sklar
If you have this kit in your stash, open it up and separate the rubber wheels and treads from the the styrene parts. The rubber parts react with the styrene and will "melt" into the styrene. Rubber parts arent affected, but the styrene parts are damaged.

Is this caused by high room temperatures perhaps? Or, how would styrene react when placed next to rubber?

bughunter
There are plasticisers in the rubber and they dissolve the polystyrene on contact.
