I just completed the Gunze Sangyo Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner model (1994 rebox). When I bought this kit on EBay I thought I was getting a 1/24 or 1/25 scale kit. It is a 1/32 kit which isn't an issue; I just never build anything in that scale.

The kit is a curbside kit, that is, it has no engine. All of the chrome was in very good shape. The chassis is detailed but no separate parts so detail painting is much harder. Once painted it did look like the real car.

The interior tub had the seats molded to the tub but I was still able to mask the seats to produce a two-tone effect. The detailed dashboard and door panels were seperate, making the painting of them easier. I painted the door panels with two colors. The two colors used were cream and light blue (same as the exterior).

The exterior had almost no flash and was painted two-tone, same as the interior. The greatest feature of this kit is the working retractable roof. It folds up and retracts into the trunk just like the real car (unlike the AMT kit). I detailed the body with Bare Metal Foil.

Other then the fact that I broke part of the windshield molding, this was a great kit to build. All parts fitted together very well. Too bad it isn't a 1/24 scale and that it is no longer in production. I bought this far below what other kits are selling for.
