Jamie Anderson Hi burkhard I am seriously considering this kit how does it compare to the trumpeter kit

Burkhard D The Trumpeter kit has considerable shape issues, e.g around the tailpipes which are too far apart. Nicely detailed and molded but the shape isssues are a killer in my book.
The Airfix Lightning looks accurate and is the only kit correctly portraying the complex curvature of the wing leading edges. Surface detail so far is the finest among the recent new-tool Airfix kits.

Jamie Anderson thanks burkhard did you know the F.2A is a hybrid lightning combines the airframe and weapons of the F.2 the fin of the F.3 and belly tank and wings of the F.6 I believe this is the greatest lightning variant ever produced this one is on my to build list
Burkhard D The shape is looking right on, let's hope they found a less ham-fisted trenchdigger

Bill Gilman Not released yet...they're saying sometime in 2013. Burkhard, if you've seen the most recent Airfix releases (Bf 109E-4, Skyhawk, Zero) you'd realize that the ham-fisted trenchdigger has already left the building. Each new release gets better and better, and the prices are extremely good. I'm loving this Airfix rebirth!

Burkhard D Agreed, the Bf109E and he Skyhawk were okay, more so at that price
