This piece of marketing bullsh*t should be deleted ASAP. If it isn't, we will probably be swamped with similar idiocies in next to no time.

Erwin Leetink Allas, it is as mentioned on their release sheet:

Gluefinger So what? Some vague allusion in somebody's advertising material should _not_ become a ScaleMates entry in the kit database. That should be reserved for existing items, not phantom/vapour products.
Why make ourselves victims of marketing campaigns by playing along? Lets make them give us products, not promises/allusions!

Erwin Leetink I see what you mean. I second that an announcement of "something" should not end up, untill it is clear what that "something" really is..

Matthew A We put the Airfix Phantom in our wish lists and had to wait a year after it was on the cover of thier cataloge. So I think putting the top secret kits on is fine

Augie Perhaps, asking Scalemates himself would be a good idea before people get too "bent" out of shape. Just a thought.
13. May at 20:18:24
Nigel While not getting bent out of shape, I agree that the database should be restricted to (announcements of) definite articles.
13. May at 20:21:54
Derek Huggett I'll second Augie's thought. :) I would add though there are items that have been entered in the database which have never seen the light of day!

Nigel And like any 'distributed input' database, SCM has some 'inconsistencies', if not straight-out 'issues'.

But, if there's an easy option to cull some of the crud before i even gets to be an issue?
13. May at 20:32:26
Matthew A @Huggett that's what I like about ScaleMates it's a great archive
13. May at 20:32:43
Nigel It's a great archive of identifiable things.

But what's the value of things that cannot be identified?

When they become identifiable, that's the time to add them.

Derek Huggett Hey! Scalemates existentialism!!!! :)
13. May at 20:40:24
Matthew A I've spent years tracking down what happened to the unfinished FROG kits, so I have to disagree

Gluefinger >> Scalemates existentialism!
No, just a bit of good old-fashioned ontology. ;)
