Trying to find a way to use my Tamiya Panel Line paint over some flat acrylic. Can I brush paint X-22 clear over my color and then use my panel line paint? Every time I try to use Tamiya thinner (x-20a) to clean up my excess panned line paint it wipes up my base coat. Maybe I am using the wrong type of thinner to clean up the excess panel line paint?
My process has been base coat Tamiya XF-68, Tamiya panel line accent, Tamiya thinner to wipe excess. It’s wiping everything (rightfully so).

May you have to try enamel thinner or odorless thinner, or may be lighter petrol to clean the wash up

I spray after the required base colors the clear coat (for example x22). Than i apply the wash (enamel or thinned oil colors) the important is, that your protecting clear coat not a enamel based color is. Otherwise the enamel thinner (which you use to wipe off the wash) will attacks your clear (acrylic) coat. I hope that will help you!
