"The right stuff." !! Awsome stuff on how these guys were 'chosen' to be the first astronauts. !
Because they, 'knew systems' as they said. Chuck Yeager especially. 👍
Seat of their pants flying with all feed back 'through the stick'. 🙂
I once read about how hot it got in the cockpit of the X-1, 2, and3. That things were too hot to touch coming to the end of each flight. Jeez. ! Courage by the truck loads. 🙂

Yeah its quite amazing 🙂 then they largely got forgotten about for a few years as they were not astronauts

This is the one thats going to be in the bay so Once painted, I will be Making the slight mod to the spine to put magnet into her.

Nice project. Watch out: the fitting of the canopy is a little bit tricky. Need to add a strip of plastic card at the back (around 1 or 1.2mm) for a proper fitting. My own completed project, of it can help:

Ah, I have this kit. Don't forget nose weight. Iirc, you have to add some.
5. October 2020, 13:28
Thanks for the reminder Treehugger. I'll put a note in the instructions.
6. October 2020, 06:32
I used nose weight in terms of tiny metal balls, like 1 mm size, and iirc I filled the area around the cabin parts. Presumably, this is a little tricky, because there isn't far to the two rear landing gear wheels. I mean, the closer you place your weight to the pivot point, the less effect the nose weight stuff have for stabilizing the thing.
