My first attempt at an airliner in 1:144 scale. A change from military subjects, with a whole new set of challenges!
Love it! I also started drifting into 1/144 airliners lately. Pity this kit is such a rarity, would love to get one too.
Thank you once again! I find myself starting to have an interest in airliners too lately. I've been looking hard for a 1/144 747-400 for years now, and I think I have finally found one. A shame those kits are so rare indeed. I actually got incredibly lucky with this one. I got it from a friend who wanted to throw the kit in the trash!
Lucky you Jasper. I'm currently in search of 737-200 by EE as I got myself nice racoon decal set
And for the Ryanair one, I'll go rather for Zvezda kit and 26 decals, these should still be available.
I am sure the Zvezda kit is miles ahead of this old Revell one. It's a nice kit for a first dive into 1:144 though, but nothing spectacular.December 16, 2020

Ray, I am interested to know your thoughts on the Welsh 737 versus the new Aeromodl kits (if, you have one.) Progress is looking good! I see it's on a stick. Are you planning on giving it away as a presentation model? K/r, Dutch
Thanks Gents, @Dutch, I don't have the AeroModl kit (is the 727-200 released yet?). I am sure the AeroModl kit will have a lot more detail and make less work for a project like this, unfortunately they have only announced up to the -500 and the price is a bit rich for me at the moment when you include shipping to this side of the planet. It is for me I put some on sticks so I can display more and layer them.
I agree with your thinking. But, you are definitely adding sufficient and simple detail to really make it authentic. I also like the 10/11 Sqn theme. It goes along with your many Orions.
@Łukasz, each fuselage half is 2 parts but it doesn't help much. I reinforce the seams with strips of card to get more surface are to glue rather than just but join each half. I still ended up with a lot of puttying and sanding though. The bulkheads Welsh supply also help but need a bit of work to get them to the right diameter.
The P-8 progresses, antennas installed, primer coat on. I just need to sort out the retraction arms for the weapons bay doors and with weapons pylons.
The Beech in the background reminds me that's the size I usually stick to, as I have no idea where to store the bigger builds
@Łukasz, I should get back to the smaller builds for a bit of sanity. I am working in two 707 types and the P-8 at the moment
