thanks Rui, yes it's a really old kit I restored and repainted, the white wash was done with VMS Chip & Nick Smart Chipping Paint.

I'm about a quarter of the way through; the fit has been great with great detail, though the radio frame was a bit fiddly to put together. One bit of it got so messed up I had to replace it with some styrene rod, but that was mostly my fault. The figures are a bit boring, but I was going to use some Miniart and MasterBox ones anyways. As for parts I don't know. This is the only German half-track I've built apart from the old Tamiya Greif I built when I was a teen.

If this was your first project in this scale, I'm curious to know what models you built before? The vehicles, particularly the half-track are very good, the stowage bits and the sheets are excellent. So you must have had a reasonable amount of experience before doing this dio.

@Blaubar Thanks' for your kind words Mate, very welcome.
@gorbygould, Yes, before this I had built some UHU glue with 2 or 3, 1/600, plastic ships (if you get my drift), One Spitfire and a Zero in 1/32. (WOU That zero without paint but with the decals used to fly so much. and contrary to the real thing it was indestructible).
Then dozens of 1/72 Airfix airficraf of all kinds, this time painted with gloss enamels, and dozens of Matchebox Airfix and other brands 1/72 AFVs. Some of them in the beginning also with gloss colours and later on I discovered the matt hehehe. Oh I almost forgot a Airfix-calssic ship in 1/144, in brown plastic left without paint, a White 1999 Space Eagle, just with Black Red and Silver (again gloss), and so on and so on. So I think I got some experience before.
Oh Nostalgia...

Well... you might be right. According to Scalemates database Revell and Dragon kits differ only in decals.

Actually Revell would have been the right choice here. Moulds are the same, but only Revell has the correct Decals. One of the "Greif" decals should have been only white outlines, not filled out.

Well, it's hard to decide. On the vehicle's left side it looks like it was filled ([img1])
But on the right it is definitely just an outline ([img2])

Anyway, the decals of my kit are just rubbish. Maybe they are old, but they just fell apart. The "GREIF" for the left side was in such a bad shape, I could not use it... :( What a pity!

Exactly what I meant, left side filled out, right just outline... could have worded that differently to avoid confusion ;)

These particular Sd.Kfz.250 wheels have been handpainted in the meanwhile. But I will start with a fresh set of (Jagd-)Panther wheels to do the test :) I will post the results both here and in your album :)

Be advised that this kit (once again) does NOT include the transmission block (the one that goes under the large cover between the front seats), just like many of the Dragon Sd.Kfz.250 kits. It's the small Y-sprue that actually is included in some of the Sd.Kfz. 250 kits...

Very, very strange, to say the least, why Dragon is leaving it out again, in this new box...

Thanks for the advice. So this kit is based on the old one Sd.Kfz. 250/1 'NEU' Armored .. Carrier (Dragon 6100, 1:35) and not on the premium kit Sd.Kfz. 250/1 NEU (Dragon 6427, 1:35) Very strange as you say.

Yes, that's correct. Based on the original 250/1 (#6100).

None of the Premium additions are included. None of the PE, not the DS tarp, none of that. So the only extra value in this particular Orange Box is basically the figure kit.

Personally, I'm not buying this one. I will just pay a few euros / dollars more and get the Premium version (#6427), which has a LOT more value. I can get the figure set elsewhere + cheaply. And if really needed, you can also still get the #6100 kit for a couple of bucks. Whatever one would do, it would always be cheaper compared to getting the Orange Box. I see no reason for its existence :P

It's a great little kit! I can recommend getting it. It isn't 100% accurate, especially around the front seat area and dashboard, but still an absolutely wonderfully engineered model. No fitting issues at all so far. There are some ejector pin marks on the older injection molded parts that are included. However, most of them are either very easy to remove with just a little bit of sanding (in locations that are easy to access) or are in places where they can't be seen once assembled. So not really an issue as far as I'm concerned :)

@Dave: I started out a long time ago in what you can pretty much call a closet :P it drove me bonkers and led to me giving up the hobby for a long time. But since then I have moved to a larger home and decided it was time to capture and claim one room for myself! :D
I hope you will get a nice hobby room for yourself sometime too!

@Holger: Thank you! It really is a nice place to be. I have my computer desk on the other side of the modeling bench and because it's a nice & tidy room I can also just sit and relax there :D

@Lionel: Thanks! I have found it's all a matter of cleaning up afterwards. After each phase of a modeling session. If I don't do that, this place will look like a war zone in a matter of days ;) but I like a clean desk, where I have everything handy, enough working space and where I don't have to go on search & rescue missions to find parts I have misplaced :P

@Michael: Tidy is a good thing! IMHO, of course! ;) I just saw your hobby room too and it looks absolutely GREAT! The view is most definitely a LOT better than mine! Stunning!! :D I really love the floor boards as well! Beautiful color!
And yeah, I have put in a small white carpet specifically for the occasional Carpet Monster offerings :P gotta keep the Gods happy! :D hahaha!
