First kit after many, many years of no modelling. I bought 5 cheap 1:72 kits as practice material. Have never used an airbrush before, so a lot to learn.
Cockpit went pretty well, handpainted it with Revell enamel. Forgot to put on a varnish before glueing it in though. Oops.
Used liquid mask on the canopy and glued it on
Then forgot to drill the holes in the wings for the rockets. So it will just be bombs then 🙂
Putting on the primer (Vallejo grey) was a lesson in airbrushing. Practiced on plastic sheets before that of course, but still a crash course in thinning and air pressure.
The olive drab on top was troublesome too, as expected. The bottom neutral grey went a lot smoother, figuring out the low pressure (12psi or thereabouts) seems best.
The yellow has trouble covering. Have to redo that.
Lessons so far: filling the gaps need to be better, surface needs to be smoother (wing roots). Low pressure on the brush.
Everything close to the fuselage is hard to get an even coat on. Masking needs to be much better.
