Hi, Jv worked on the engine today ..its a typical old AMT kit lots of flash to remove , after I make some decent progress I will upload pic's

Depending on the way you are going, you won't see much of the engine, once it's in. The hood won't raise forward enough. It's worth checking the frame rails for twists though. And keep in mind, that the frame turns into a kinda Y shape, as it reaches the engine? I saw a guy once, who thought it was warped. He spent time straightening it out. Man, I could've cried for him! I advised him to contact Round2 for new parts. I never found out the outcome.

@ bozzer , understood ... (I'm glad you pointed out the battery box ).when I built my 600DM (years back) I thought it was hugely twisted , I strive to do a reasonable job on the engine detail ..regardless to overall view at end of build , Like a tank with a full interior ( my MiniArt T-54 ) only to close it up t the end of the build, "I know its in there" ...being a AMT kit I expect it to be a little tweeked. I've overloaded on You tube build/review videos ..and all the truck scenes from the Road Warrior ,to the point that I just need to build and correct ,without apprehension of outcome. There are a few good You tube truck channels ( example: Old Rig's Down under)..that highlight the Mack R ..also referencing the
Scalemates project pic's of Brandon H , Gilles Q and Jeremy O very helpful

I also have some handy real life pictures of the R model, that I took at the museum. As many know, it's my favourite Mack. I'm also on a few Facebook groups, for the real thing too. You get to know the issues with them, and the members post some of the most amazing pictures, of the things that we never get to see? Cab mounts, starter motors, wiper motors, etc. I find it useful, without a doubt. Any luck with the dashboard conversion?

haven't addressed the dash board ...I did actually think about it this morning , between errands . I'm not on FB ..its really not a social platform I embrace (although many do) . Scalemates ...my only online social presence .
