Thanks dude! Must get back into this one, its been a fun project and a great learning experience 🙂
Really impressive work Rob, and welcome back to the hobby. Looking forward to seeing more from you👍
Thanks for the warm welcome and very kind compliments about my work James. Greatly appreciated! 🙂 👍
An excellent idea for trying out new techniques! And also a most cost efficient way to get some replacement decals while you're at it. Have fun with these classic kits!
Great stuff! Cool idea! It seems a LOT of people returned to this hobby in 2020... myself included.
I think that the stay at home COVID lockdowns had something to do with all the returning modelers. But no matter the reason, it's a good thing for the hobby to have all the returnees.
@DJ @Carlos - my return to the hobby is due to a full change in career. I used to work in a factory as a model builder which partly killed the enjoyment of doing it at home. Family commitments also took their toll which led to it being put aside. In 2018 I joined the ambulance service as a clinician, and now i'm working front line as an emergency responder the hobby is the perfect way to shut away the world when off-duty, and allows me to space to review, rationalise and 'put to bed' some of the incidents I may have attended in the most recent shifts 👍
I am there with ya. This hobby was my escape as well for all my time in uniform as a soldier and/or cop between 1983 and 2020. Although there were times that had me questioning how relaxing the hobby I was when mishaps occurred and I would get upset.
Rob, I understand. 👍 My return was triggered by the pandemic and the hobby has greatly helped with improving my mental health. And it was very nice to be reminded how much I truly enjoyed modelling. But like Carlos said, regardless the reason, it's a good thing for the hobby!
Great project, thanks for sharing your great work. It's a funny thing, you start them as practice project but they look so good I can appreciate why you've been reluctant to mess with them 👍😉

I've always wanted to build a 1/24 aircraft.
Once I finish my Stage Coach I'm going to build the Mosquito
That'll be a fantastic build to get stuck in to! I've not got one in my own stash, but the photos I've seen of built examples, it looks an absolutely stunning kit to do. Hope you'll share the progress you make with it to us all here!
I'll be showing it here and on my YouTube channel
I have both kits now.
I recently purchased the A25001A kit so I can keep my A25001
I also purchased some aftermarket decals so I can still do a RAAF version
Looking forward to seeing this come together Wilky - will be great to see one in colours other than RAF too! ??
Hi Rob, feeling your pain....currently at altitude with the "new" re-box 24th 'Classic'. Pleased you're resurrecting the old school kit!
Hi Andy - I figured after surviving for so long she deserved a second chance! Plus with the other two boxed examples waiting in the wings, it seemed like the perfect moment to get them all underway 🙂
@Rob, great idea, I'm enjoying mine after a "what the.....??" start!
@Munkyslut - cheers dude!

Curiosity killed the cat and all that....I like a challenge kit and often find myself drawn to the underdog....heard a lot about these, so lets see what all the fuss is about 😄 👍
