Built from the Airfix kit, brush painted with Humbrol enamels, finished with the kit decals and some hand painted markings (walkways).
I built this model back in the seventies. The varnish has yellowed badly...

Do you know anything about this livery? Was this the first production Tornado?

I don't know, I built the model something like 40 years ago... It was one of the options from the kit: Tri-National Tornado Training Establishment XX946 | 1st Flight - Warton, Lancashire October 1974 | White Red

Looks great. Too bad about the varnish yellowing. But there weren't many options for archival paints in the 70s.

The varnish was most probably Humbrol as that was all I used at that time...

Wow!! that has brought back so many happy memories!, I remember my dad treating me to this kit because I'd done so well in a swimming championship...I painted it just like yours!!...splendid!!
