M.R.C.A. Tornado

Scale:
1:72
Status:
Completed

Built from the Airfix kit, brush painted with Humbrol enamels, finished with the kit decals and some hand painted markings (walkways).
I built this model back in the seventies. The varnish has yellowed badly...

Do you know anything about this livery? Was this the first production Tornado?

I don't know, I built the model something like 40 years ago... It was one of the options from the kit: Tri-National Tornado Training Establishment XX946 | 1st Flight - Warton, Lancashire October 1974 | White Red

Looks great. Too bad about the varnish yellowing. But there weren't many options for archival paints in the 70s.

Yes, a nice build, looks like Hasegawa white!

Sure looks like Hasegawa white like in their decals 😉
The varnish was most probably Humbrol as that was all I used at that time...
