This looks suspiciously like a Challenger 2 tank. Am I right?

Did you add bolt heads, or am I imagining this? 🙂

Btw, I was tempted to sand round the tiny wheels, but I wasn't sure how whacky the mold was so I just left it alone, as it is hidden behind the side armor anyway.

Ah, what a nice tip!!!! I am so happy I came across this (bicycle breaking or shift wire). I will certainly try this out. 😄

It is a Challenger 2. Trumpeter Challenger 2 Enhanced Armor, no. 01522. No mods so far, but I'm going to fold the mirrors down, because they're in the way of the gun traverse, and they're only really used on public roads.

But what is the small hatch for?

Wait, did you have to strip the shift cable of wiring to get that wire at the center in photo 5? I can see how that makes sense as the center one has fewer wires in it compared to the one on the left. Up to this point having learned about this tip, I've only thought about cable diameter, and not the number of wires on a cable which looks to be important.

I found some bicycle wire at home. Not sure if this was shift or breaking wire: ibb.co/Ry4s41j (image upload)

Apparently, the resulting ca 1mm thickness after stripping, seem to match the cable on my 1:35 Challenger tank. I think I will replace the tread I used for cable material with this new wire. 🙂

Yes, that's shift cable. Brake cable is thicker gauge strands, and doesn't have two layers. Remember to anneal the wire so that it's soft. Heat it to glowing, and let it cool slowly. Then you can work it around corners and give it a natural sag in places.
