Album info

B-26B-56, 44-34698, 'The Seventh Chadwick', 3rd Bomb Group / 13th Bomb Squadron, Korea April/May 1952

Aircraft flown by Lt. Col. Robert Fortney, Commander of the 13th Bomb Squadron.

Kit: The Revell re-boxing of the ICM Invader

Aftermarket: Master gun barrels (Top), Eduard photoetch, Eduard Mask, Eduard resin wheels and Quick Boost Gun Barrels (Front)

Paints: Tamiya NATO Black and AK Signal Red as the main colours. AK Real Colours for the cockpit and extensive use of Super Metallics.

Weathering: Flory Grey and Brown Wash mixed to be a suitable shade for both main colours.

A very enjoyable kit with some masterful touches, including the rear gunners room and the extensive engine. Let down a little by the poorly fitting nose and the rough finish to various parts of the fuselage.

The Revell re-boxing offers terrific value for money and some different schemes. The supplied Revell instructions are just awful and have been badly cut and pasted from various ICM kits. The nose instructions, incorrectly advising to include lower guns and far too much nose weight (in engines) are the most glaring errors.

I really enjoyed this but it truthfully started to turn into a marathon. In the end, I left off the extra weapons and the weathering was very light touch.

Great fun - highly recommended.
