Love the laser cut parts! I'm building the optional floats as amphibious versions. I hope to 3D print an engine.

1:24 Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp Junior, 6x6 and 5x5 aircraft wheels I had printed by a friend. Turned out way better than I hoped. Super lucky to get this printed, I am not good at 3D modelling and I need practice building STL files.

Engine was downloaded from the link below and edited in Sketchup to remove a lot of the stuff I didn't think would print well.

Cabin interior is done, time to finish the windows and then start final assembly.

Added a couple photos today, sorry for not posting more updates. Been trying to force this project through as it's been going for far too long. I am close to done with the primary color and will be able to add graphics soon. Tried chipping paint with hairspray for the first time and it went reasonably well. I can tell it would work much better on plastic parts instead of paper coated balsa.

Need to start working on the 3D model for the propeller and spinner. Those are the final parts I need to build.

The 3D printed propeller has been designed and printed. Came out way better than I hoped. Learning Blender a little bit at a time and it's an amazing program. The fact that it's free is crazy.

I have painted the outside primary colors and just need some black stripes before it's ready to attach the floats. Will have to make a custom jig to hold the floats and fuselage in place while the struts are attached.

Finally completed this project. Maybe a couple small details that could be fixed but I'm ready to move onto something new. Took way longer than I thought it would just because I didn't have a lot of time to work on it and I got burnout about halfway through. Overall I'm pretty happy with it, lots of mistakes and things I'd liked to have done better. However I also learned a lot and compared to the Bird Dog I finished before this one it's a huge step forward in quality.
