After looking for a while for the model of Battlestar Galactica in scale 1:350 and found nothing I have decided to build it from scratch myself.
FIRST APPROACH (discontinued)
As starting point I have found some meshes for 3 feet paper model (the largest I could find, which correspond to scale 1:1550, if consider original ship 4640 feet or 1414 meters long). Link here stevespaper.com/?page_id=66.
Taking in to account that 1:350 model should be approximately 13.5 feet or 411 cm long, it is necessary to upscale found meshes 450% (4.5 times).
Unfortunately, the paper model scheme files I found there are just bitmap graphics. So the just upscalling 450% resulting in very terrible quality. So the first small sub-project is to produce based on this 1:350 bitmap meshes real vector meshes to be able print them on A0 size posters.
SECOND APPROACH (active build)!
Realizing that the quality of this paper model to be very low I have found many images and drawings of BSG by ZIOC and at the same time real 3D model of Battlestar Pacifica (Galactica sister) by tan.j. Based of this drawings and 3D models I decided at the and to scratch build Galactica frame by frame (rib by rib) with more detailed part to be 3D printed.
I do not know would I manage at the end to finish this huge project and how it will run, but...

andvkubarJust to see how I could handle all that I have started with Mid section and particular with landing bays. All structural core elements have been created in real vector format in 1:350 scale on A0 and first 6 A0 sheets have been ordered from repro-online.de/schnittmuster-plotservice. I will come back as soon as I get these prints to my hands and start assembling landing bays.
andvkubarUnfortunately, after more detailed examinations of this paper model I found that it is very inaccurate and I have decided to start completely form scratch frame by frame, basing on images by ZIOC and some drawings I managed to find (see photoalbum).
