JD Oh hell yeah! Brings back childhood memories of Saturday morning cartoons! I'm definitely following this!

Stephan H. Oh nice. I have build a Star Blazers Andromeda some years ago which "only" came with lighting, but this one here looks like the new star inside the cabinet with all those functions. Good look for the upcoming steps.

andvkubar Thanks Stephan. I have more photos, not yet managed to post them here. Last days I have also made display case for her, while already for a while she was collecting dust. I will post soon more pics.

andvkubar Added some more photos of the building process.

Stephan H. Great thanks for the pics. I need to find a video of this. That is a more of a RC model than static display
7. March, 18:20
andvkubar I could later make video of RC functionality.
andvkubar @Daniel, at the end I have decided to go not for a paper model, but rather combination of light PVC frames core structure with plastic surfaces. It should results in a stable but not so heavy model as to making it from wood core. I will see how it is gonna be first building one Landing Bay. I will design by that mean proper building materials and technologies to be able to build stable but not very heavy main hull.
andvkubar @Spanjaard That will be pretty long project ))
I do not know when and how it will be finished, but what I do know already, that I will learn many new stuff and techniques meanwhile. What I already learning is 3D printing. )
andvkubar Just to see how I could handle all that I have started with Mid section and particular with landing bays. All structural core elements have been created in real vector format in 1:350 scale on A0 and first 6 A0 sheets have been ordered from https://repro-online.de/schnittmuster-plotservice. See photoalbum for more details.
I will come back as soon as I get these prints to my hands and start assembling landing bays.

andvkubar Unfortunately, after more detailed examinations of this paper model I found that it is very inaccurate and I have decided to start completely form scratch frame by frame, basing on images by ZIOC and some drawings I managed to find (see photoalbum).
7. March, 08:42
andvkubar Realizing that the quality of this paper model to be very low I have found very much images and drawings of BSG by ZIOC and at the same time real 3D model of Battlestar Pacifica (Galactica sister) by tan.j. Based of this drawings and 3D models I decided at the and to scratch build Galactica frame by frame (rib by rib) with more detailed part to be 3D printed.
18. March, 17:28
andvkubar First couple of frames/ribs were cut to take a look how it goes together. See project photoalbum.
21. March, 18:24
andvkubar More frames/ribs cut and assembled together. Some proper shape is coming.;) See project photoalbum.
