I'm looking over your shoulder to see, how that fits together. The roadster has it's issues and even the Coupe by Revell. This kit looks tricky - doesn't matter from which producer it is. Your paint looks rough. What Did you take?

I hope it goes together well! I'm not sure I follow with the paint comment? do you mind expanding on your thought and question?

I wanted to say that the surface of the paint looks rough. If you look at the picture with the hood, you can see that the paint doesn't look smooth. Or on the roof. You see?

I understand now. This is the first time I have used a pearl top coat. Could it be that that is what's causing it to look rough?

To bad Testors discontinued the GTS BLUE PEARL DODGE paint, that's what I used when I built my Viper, came out pretty decent.

It is hard to tell, why the surface looks like it looks. My guess is, that it was a little to much color for one pass or it was to thick (maybe caused of a colder surrounding?). I think with 2-3 layers of clear coat and at least wet sanding between #2 and #3 it could smooth the surface. But it depends on the clear coat what you use. I made the experience, that you need more layers out of a rattle can instead of using 2K (mixed clear coat and harderner). 2K is harder and takes more punishment while wetsanding. With normal clear varnish from a rattle can, the risk of sanding through the clear varnish is higher. That's why I work with several layers.
