Does anyone have experience with MiniArt link tracks? Need a set of tracks for an old Tamiya T-62 kits that's built and mostly weathered but I ruined the rubber band tracks a few years ago. Don't want to spend 3 kits worth on a set of tracks for it and I've seen MiniArt makes a relatively cheap set, thought?

Thinking about adding another artillery piece to the stash for a future build, I have 2 Meng Auf 1, a Kirin Ausf H Grille, a Dragon 38 M kit #6429 as well as a Trumpeter LeFH18 #00353 and 7.5cn Pak40 #00354 if you'd call them artys, looking at the Trumpeter AS-90 and the Italeri Paladin SP Howitzer, however I can't find this boxing of the howitzer anywhere on here or information for it. Anyone have opinions on either kit? If I knew how to add pictures I would haha. Thanks!

James C I have the Trumpeter 1/35 AS-90. While I have not built it (yet) it looks to be an extremely good kit for it's relatively cheap price. I'd definitely recommend it. I can't comment on the Italeri kit as I'm not familiar with it, but from my personal experience of both brands, Trumpeter kits are of superior quality overall.

Richard Hoffer Very good to know! Thanks! I do know some of the older Italeri kits can be kinda junky. I suppose I can put if and do a Paladin from a nicer kit down the road if I decide to.

James C I just realized that my Tamiya M109 Paladin boxings (both Vietnam & Gulf War variants) are actually re-boxed Italeri kits, with a few extra Tamiya stowage items included... but the base kits themselves are all Italeri moldings. These kits are "OK" but generally way overpriced due to the Tamiya name on the box. I only purchased them due to being significantly reduced in price. My advice would be to look at getting the AFV club M109 instead as it is a superior kit overall.

The Trumpeter AS-90 is probably the best value overall if your on a budget as you get a lot of plastic for your $ ;)

Richard Hoffer That's what I tend to do haha. I have a nice stash but there's no rhyme or reason to it spare a few kits family members got me for gifts. I get stuff I think would be cool to build or is cheap. If I get the AS-90 it's because it's a good deal, I'm still trying to decide if I want to pull the trigger

Neuling I agree with James and recommend the AFV Paladin kit too. You can see my recent AFV Paladin build ("Paladin & co." ;) and my former Italeri M 109 build ("Panzerhaubitze" ;) in my albums.

So, I have this terrible tendency to build models, get the base painting done, and then when it comes time to weather, detail, or "finish" (which we all know is never truly done), they get put aside on a shelf because I always feel I don't have the skills or experience to finish them how I'd like or how I think they should be, then I start a new kit and a few weeks or months later it's the same story. Anyway, does anyone have any suggestion on good places for an intermediate level builder to learn some weather/finishing detail skills? I don't have an airbrush nor a way to use one as I model in the laundry room of the house and my wife won't let me airbrush inside, so I brush paint everything or rattle can. I have some MiG and Vallejro weathering kits but haven't used them. Thanks!!

Patrick Hagelstein Look up Andy's Hobby Headquarters on YouTube. He has some lower level tutorials on weathering and putting models in a scenery. Worth watching. Oh, and maybe more importantly, just do some stuff! That first model will surely be surpassed by that second and you will look back on a nice learning project. :)
