Cool Kits though ! My only problem is finding a home for them after they get built, I picked up 2 1/12 Shelby GT500 kits for dirt cheap that are going to have to sit until the unforeseeable future !

I just added 36" x 160" of shelfing in my spare room for some of these big kits. Some are already in my Living room on the coffee & end tables. Bookcase, and in boxes down in the basement. Not much room left, but I'll keep buying, (Can't stop myself from that)

I've got about a dozen 1/8 & probably twice that in 1/12. I've given up a whole room to them, it's pretty much full & I cannot stop buying more 🙂

The 1/8 scale kits are easier to work with (easier to find the parts), except for the older Pocher kits (screws are real tiny)

As much as I love the old school Revell, Monogram, Lindberg t's the lack of opening doors, deck lid etc that really frustrates me...... the XK/E? That's it for choice!

Those Monogram kits were in the low $20.00 USD when they first came out. I think they used the same master molds of there 1/24 scale kits to keep the price low (not really sure). If they added opening doors and rear hatch the price would of been much higher, and they would of sold less kits (meaning less profits). Not sure of the retail price for Revell/Germany's re-released of the '65 Vette, But the Pocher kits with opening doors and hatches (die-cast body parts) are well above the price that most larger kits sell for.

That's exactly what allowed me to buy a 65 Vette & an XK/E when I was about 12 years old 😉

My 1st most expensive kit when I was young (maybe twelve or fourteen) was the 1/48 scale Monogram B-17 for $10.00 USD at a hobby store in the middle of town. walk home about 4 miles with it, and built right away. Don't know what ever happen to it after that.
