I think it is the original Airfix F-14A, mainly based on the decals..........but who really remembers after almost 50 years!!

.....But checking the database again, I think you're correct - box art for the Matchbox kit depicts exactly these markings. Thanks!!

This is one of the survivors from my second period of model building, during the mid-late 70's when my children were at primary school. It was built as in flight and suspended from the bedroom ceiling of my son and daughter.

It's the Matchbox kit of one of the prototypes, brush painted with good old Humbrol, definitely showing the effects of many years and moves (11, if I remember well!).
