Amazing how good these older models can look with some nice painting and weathering. The rivet detail is a lot more subtle after the final coats of paint.

That is a beautiful, "ugly", paint job! 👍 Fantastic!

Thanks guys!
This was more or less trial and error. It gave me a taste for more Japanese aircraft.

Andreas, How did you find the fit of this kit? Okay, or lots of filling? Seems like a nice kit for it's age.

Stephen - as far as I can remember it was surprisingly good for its age, can't remember using that much putty…

That chipping looks great! I'm doing a similar look on a N1K1 George. Did you use a chipping fluid to achieve that look? If so, how did you seal it? Great job!

Thanks Kevin! It's actually dry brushing. I wanted to see how far I could push my dry brushing skills with a decent result.

Andreas, If that finish is dry brushed, then it would be one of the finest examples I have seen. The variation in colouring is so subtle. Your technique is to be commended.

Thanks Stephen, that's very kind! I find dry brushing easier than chipping fluid actually.
