HMS Ithuriel 1942 (WIP)
First PE parts glued; the bridge superstructure is not glue, just placed to see how it looks so far
Applying Semtex (Hataka A523)
Last color (Hataka A501) applied with a brush and decals applied over MRP gloss varnish (MRP-48)
Building up the base, with acquarel paper
Some Das Pronto modelling putty
First layer of blue
Green wash and after this a layer of very light green on the waves, plus white on the foam area of the waves
Gel to be applied over the painted sea
Gel applied
Gel dry and boat glued in place - boat had vertical streaks applied to the side with a gentle acrylic wash
Adding structures, painting details
Paiting the wood interior of the little boats followed but a light wash with Citadel Nuln Oil
Painted some wind waves on the sea, but not happy with the result
The flak batteries are so small...
A little bit of rust streaks on the hull sides
Title cut from the PE fret, painted black then sanded
Gel applied over the paint
Finished!

Ricardo ReisThanks; this an extremely difficult kit; now that I've applied the Primary, all the CA excess used gluing is visible! 🙁 well, at least in the enlarged photos...

RichmondI haven't used it - I usually use zap thin zapglue.com/ca, I decant an amount and dip the railing in the glue rather than apply directly to the deck and then place - but I am no expert - I have also seen people use PVA - there a lot of videos on youtube now for the 1/700 builds so you may gte some good tips by looking at them.

Norbert SteffensGreat so far. Eager to see more. There are a lot of different method to glue Pe parts. Personally I never using PVA. To my experience its not strong enough.

RichmondI only got the idea from Scaleaton on his recent submarine diorama build - I thought at the time it was a strange choice but he was probably conscious of damaging some paintwork

Ricardo ReisThanks guys; I have both CA and PVA based "Ultra Glue" from Ammo; I prefer CA; the problem is after you prime the surface even the smallest overspill of CA becomes visible because the parts are so small (1:700); the same happens with PVA based glues; and then, of course, I mean visible under a magnifying glasses or a macro picture from your phone; in any case, I don't like to see it, I'll improve the next time, make sure to use the tiniest amount of CA and cleaning with a dry tissue any overspill...
