Thanks guys. JD - the probe droid is waiting on me to figure out a way to make some mods to the head, might be a while yet. Torsten - yes, I really like the metal finish you get with Alclad polished aluminium. I've used it on some of my other droids as well as a natural metal plane and it always works well, as long as you spray it over a good gloss primer coat.

Only the Bandai kits as the colour separations are designed in and the connection points are usually in places where they're hidden

Makes sense to me...Bandai kits are great.(except when they use stickers instead of decals)

Yeah JD, never used the stickers yet. The only Bandai kit I have that's only got stickers is the R4-19 kit but that will be painted as another droid anyway. This one is nearing the end anyway, just needs decals and then weathering.

And this one's done - added the lens to the main eye, painted the various lights etc. Also provided a comparison to BB-8 so you can see the differences.

Album info

I bought the BB-8 & D-O kit for the D-O droid but I'd already built BB-8. Therefore I'm converting the BB-8 to CB-23, the other ball droid in the Star Wars Resistance cartoon. The body is the same as BB-8, just different colours, but the head is quite different and needs some major changes.
