Thanks, Mates! The kit is a dog, with a terrible fit and soapy details, but can build up into a nice replica of this beauty. And these Syhart decals did their job. Best, Hubert

Convincing work on this interesting prototype. 👍

Good job! Nice to see I'm not alone with that project. Did you use the resin kit by "MR Modellbau" for parts or is it complete scratch? Like the detailing done!
14. October 2020, 01:32
Hubert Kendziorek
Thanks! It's all from the scratch, based on the available photos. Had no idea of the MR Modelbau conversion until the front plate and turret/superstructure were ready, so decided not to buy it.

This is extreme rarity and bit speculative, isn't it?😉 Pure pleasure to watch anyway. 👍 👍 👍

Many thanks Mates 🙂 It's such a nice looking plane, a pity it is not represented by any decent or modern kit. Best, Hubert

Many thanks again, glad that you like it 🙂 Added a few in-progress photos in the album.
I have a soft spot on the French AdA colors, so just couldn't resist when I came across a photo of the sad remains of the broken SP-BPM at Le Bourget in June 1940 and came to the conclusion, that she had to be painted with the French colors in March of 1940, not British, like SP-BNF earlier in Frebruary that year. Best regards, Hubert

The French camo is the most probable, agree that the scheme on the wings and the fuselage is speculative, but I hope to some extent it reflects the way she actually looked like. Four photos that were taken at Le Bourget by the Germans in June 1940 showing the tail with the Polish checkboard and the wing with French cockades, the fact that SP-BPM was overhauled in France in March 1940, not in GB like SP-BNF, that she didn't come back from France despite British desire to purchase her in May 1940, and that it could not be any French L-14, all these elements just fit each other.

Thanks, Mates 🙂 It is the most probable, that the unsymmetrical scheme is not accurate, and actually the plane was repainted at some moment before it was destroyed in a hangar fire and has never worn these two different schemes at the same time... Anyway, that's what DW proposed basing on her photos that seemed at the first look to have been taken at the same time, and I just couldn't resist. Nevertheless, it is a fantastic kit, going together nicely for a short run production, highly recommended to all but the beginners.
