Norbert SteffensAgain, what a shiny finish.... But white is a difficult color. Ever thought to do a extemly subtle wash(wheathering).?
Robert W MartelNorbert, it's taken me nearly 3 years, but I think I'm finally starting to be able to put on a decent coat of paint. Seems each one gets a little better!
I just tried to highlight the door gaps and black around the window edges for the rubber. That's it.
I'm still looking for the plain firebird body though, they're out there, just everybody wants an arm and a leg for one. I'll come across it one day, just gotta be patient!

I bought a 70 Firebird in 1976 at a dealer in Northampton, Ma. I think I paid $1700 for it, which was high, but she was a beauty! New paint job, brand new Spyder Mags & tires. Ran and drove like new, only had a 350 w/2bbl, but it was a pretty snappy car. It was low and heavy and really hugged the road.
I drove it to Santa Cruz, CA to visit some friends who had moved there......and never went back !! After several years I sold it to a buddy and he wrecked it so I got it back, One of the wheels got F' d up so there went those nice rims. I have never seen any like them since. In the meantime I had met my now EX, and had bought a 65 Lincoln from her mom for $300, which is what she had just paid to have the transmission rebuilt. That was a cool car!
So......at some point a friends brother had a 68 Firebird Convertible w/no engine. I traded him the Lincoln for the Firebird and put the 70 engine/trans in it. Drove that car for some time...cross country twice, then the day before I was going to paint it some drunk ki
