Now this is a great лакированный гарантированный гроб. Excellent work! How was the kit to work with?

Thanks Urban

It's a fun build... It has quite satisfying cockpit details... Well, the fitting of the parts isn't perfect and the plastic is a bit too soft, but nothing to cause any headaches... oh yes, the decals from the box are useless.

Yes, I've read that the decals is totaly useless but I'd love to get my hands on the AML set #48025 if I'm to buy the kit as I do like the summer version with the black cat on the tail fin. But it's hard to get. 🙁

regarding the content in those boxes, I believe they're all the same with parts for all versions (different cowling, exhausts, etc...) just the decals are different...
the 1-4 boxing includes a black cat decals...with a bit of caution and some decal film or lacquer on them before wetting them, it might just work...
Another thing is, the kit is really cheap, you can invest in some PE or resin and still not spend a lot. So, I'd say go for it 🙂

I'm really tempted to do a full Monty on it. Do you have Microscale Liquid Decal Film? If that's the case, could you test on some unused decal and see for me how they behave and if it works good I'd like to buy the left over decal sheet from your kit to have as a back-up.

Sure , I do have MS liquid film... I'll try it out and tell you about the results... just give me a couple of days 🙂

I'm just not sure I still have those Lagg decals... some Bf109 ones I know I do... for the test, I mean... must check...can't promise you on that... but if I do have 'em, I'll send 'em to you, no problem at all

That's good enough for me. I'm currently building a Pz.III so there's no hurry. Thanks mate!

Album info

This is a LaGG-3 series 4, 3rd GvIAP (Guard Fighter Regiment), of Red Banner Baltic Fleet during the winter of 1942/43 near the Leningrad area and lake Ladoga. The aircraft was probably of 3rd or 4th series.
White 64 had quite a few distinctive characteristics. Among those are sharp prop spinner, fixed tail wheel, removed wheel doors and sliding canopy, tubular exhaust pipes, straight rudder, two 7,62mm ShKAS machine guns, one ShVAK 20mm gun thru the prop and one 12,7 UB machine gun on the left side of the engine cowling.
