Good luck with your project! I'm in the middle of it, too. The kit is ok, but the instruction sheet has several errors, be careful

Thank you Igor for the warning. Do you have any examples?

In step 4, there's a strange confusing overlay of assembled parts, make sure you don't take it at face value; then, in the last step they show a toolbox on the frame, but there's no such part. Everything not so critical, but confusing.
Also, despite very tiny details in some places, that your carpet monster is ready to consume immediately, some places are poorly detailed, like it were an old Alanger kit.

Once again, thank you for the info. As far as details are concerned that was a little bit to be expected considering the kit is more a collection of sprues from other kits and not something original. I think the AFV Club version is way better but Dragon managed to sucker me in with the figures 🙂. After I got the kit I realized that unfortunately those are the exact same figures that I have in another Dragon artillery piece (the PAK40)

Indeed, looks like Dragon has cut a lot of corners there just to get another kit.

You're almost done - what the camouflage will be. I'll watch and look forward to more photos

Thank you Vrog. To be honest I'm not so sure how I will continue and this is the reason for the lack of updates. I'm not yet decided on what theater of operations I will place it. Initially I wanted a plain dunkelgelb look for a deployed eastern front artillery piece (since it also includes figures) but now I'm not so convinced and I was thinking more along the lines of having it towed by something, either horses or a Sd.Kfz. 10 but for the moment I have neither.

Forget about Sd.Kfz 10 - this is too small or light for this gun. If half-tracked, you need sd kfz 6 (bronco) or sd kfz 7

Dan M
Yes, you're right, I've made a mistake with Sd.Kfz.10 which was indeed too light. I meant instead Sd.Kfz.11.
6 is another option as well, although this is the 18/40 version which was lighter than the original leFH 18.

Nice info, and Looking good. 👍
You can also think about the RSO, or the 251 pulling it😉 and I think I've seen also the Opel blitz doing it.

@Rui: thank you! Using a 251 or an Opel Blitz is actually an interesting idea. For the moment the project is a little bit on hold for various reasons, but I aim to get back to it sometime in a not too distant future.

@Ronald: The Flak 18 from Trumpeter I assume it's the half-track kit 01585? I don't know anything about a camo net used for it, however I did come across a picture with a DAK Famo using a camo net on the engine hood and front wheels, so maybe something similar?

Always glad to help in some way 😉
@Ronald, I think I've seen a photo of that vehicle and it looks like some sort of metallic hennery net. I will try to find the photo.

Thanks for replies and was not clear on kit. The kit is a German sFH 18 howitzer with limber smart kit number 6392. These do help but I wanting the cami net which was used to cover the two wheel part when the gun was in use. I have little ideal what it looks like and how to make one sense I never make before at all. Thanks

No worries Rui, i'm learning new things so I find this useful 🙂

Btw, nice pics for that Flak 18 Selbstfahrlafette and thx for them. Going to use them as inspiration if I ever get that kit.

the first and third photo graph look to be the same piece with the bent up fender. i never know they used netting over the whole piece this way. i though they used welded rings to camo in place. i have a couple famos in the stash and this pictures do give some great insight.
