T-72M1 DDR

An old but nice Tamiya kit, even if it has its own set of mistakes. Was built a long time ago so now I decided to paint it very quickly. The kit has nice details,of course it doesn't match more modern kits from Trumpeter or Meng, but for something from the 90's it looks really good. The tracks are the only let-down but I really didn't want to spend more on AM.

I've decided to make it into DDR service since this is an M1 which is an export version, not seen in the Russian army and also the kit was based on a tank from a German museum.

It was also my first time painting a figure with an exposed face. Not very happy with the results but at least now it doesn't look like he had small pox 😛. Next time i'm going to try with oils, it's much easier to blend them than acrylics.

The only weathering that was done (so far) is a slight pin wash with AK Dark Brown enamels.

Thank you guys! Really appreciate all the feedback!

I will probably continue with the weathering, for now it looks too fresh out of the factory. I'm thinking of some slightly dusted appearance.
