blackberuThank you 🙂 I just added a few more detailed pics, thanks to a glimpse of (rare) Belgian sun one hour ago. I have to say that I'm rather happy of the result, especially considering that I had to experiment on multiple occasions. Lots of lessons were learned on this build.

blackberu16 months 😛 But to be honest, I didn't work full time on it. My estimate is something north of 300-400 hours of work in total.
Next project is a 1:72 plane because I need something that can be finished in less than a month now 😉

Well, this project was a long, long adventure... But considering from where I started, and how much I feel I learned in the process, it was worth it. For now, this is my bookshelves' centerpiece. Until the next carrier...?
Some misc. notes:
- The Fujimi model builds like a charm. Expensive kit, but this is money well invested, as I certainly passed more than 300 hours in front of this kit. And I did cut some corners during the build, out of a mix of laziness and efficiency.
- As soon as the hull was painted, I drilled it and used two screws to attach it to a wooden base painted in mat black. It gives a lot of stability to the overall model (important considering I have two crazy cats jumping around), and let me manipulate the model easily during the later stages of the building
- The model would lack railings, which (for one reason or another) are not provided with the model. It's particularly noticeable considering that Fujimi provides you with enough PE to redo ALL support beams of the landing deck...
