G'day Adam, I've always been a fan of the Canberra. We had them in the RAAF, of course, but never was the livery this cool. I really like it and I'm thinking about doing my 1/48 Canberra in this paint scheme. Can I please ask, although this is really cool, do you know if there was any tactical or strategic reason for brilliant red and white? I can't think of a camouflage situation where this would fit in and 'disappear'. Perhaps, from the ground, at night, the red is hard to see. I know, back in the Cold War the white Canberras were painted white to minimise radiation absorption, but that surely wouldn't apply now. Or, did they do it 'just for fun'? Any info would be great. Cheers, Bill (raafbloke)

Thank you for your comment Bill!
The "Raspberry Ripple" scheme was used on aircraft specifically performing test and evaluation operations.
They were based at various air bases throughout the years.
Now theve changed the scheme and use it for what's called the Empire Test Pilots School.
