Calvin Gifford You are correct but at the time I was not certain I could find decals for a Marineflieger version! :) That is right Burkhard. General Wernher Panitzki himself, years later, wrote that he very much regretted giving in to the political pressure from above - stemming from the massive bribes Lockheed had given Messerschmitt-Fokker-Fiat.

Burkhard D Later it could have been replaced in German service by the F-20 then. The program was reportedly offered wholesale to the German industry at one point in time. A what-if on my project list, next to the X-29 in German markings :)
