The earliest Depot Hacks had an open construction, but by 1912 the sides had been closed in. Originally used to haul baggage to and from railway stations, the Depot Hack was later modified to include seats. The Depot Hack was never a production item. The customer would buy a standard Model T chassis from a Ford dealer, then have the body custom-built at a private carriage shop.
