Hello Gabor,
first of all great object... I like those odd balls. Could you explain a little the steps how you made the windows?
You take some clear palstic (like a blister pack), then you heat it up, but how do you get it in shape?

Thank you Robert

Hi Robert! You are absolutly right: the plastic is from the packaging (neck) of a shirt 🙂 . I take a strip between two tweezers, heated up abowe a candle and then pushed through it the positive form You see on the pic. The positive has made one of the original plastic windows, trimmed and polished to shape and size.

Thank You Gentlemen! Robert: the positive is on the no. 11 pic - I glued a needle into it as a handle for the operation 🙂 Gustavo: Yes, a kit is meant to be built 🙂 the only problem is just sooo many model so little time 😠 😄

In some areas the ageing of the plastic can cause problems however - the plastic somehow became brittle which is quite uncomfortable especially building a biplane. As You see I have to remake some of the wing struts as the originals broke too easily. I forgot to meke pics about the tail but I made some modifications there as the kit's a bit simple. Fortunately the net is full of pics about HP.42 tails 😄 !

Album info

Well I know what the collertors will say but I go and build this red stripe Airfix boxing HP42. As Contrail 1:72 very hard to find (and the price is unacceptable for me for a vac kit if sometimes seen one on evilbay) I make this art deco bird in the really "braille" scale - before my eyes will go wrong.
