Clifford Keesler So, made a start on this one today. Spent 3 hours cleaning up and gluing cockpit parts. Not real impressed with parts fit so far. I had to put a fair amount of putty where the side panels join the cockpit tub,so as not to have unsightly gaps in the cockpit. I was surprised at the amount of flash on the parts of this kit.

Nathan Dempsey I have this exact same kit. I honestly haven't looked at it closely so it will be very interesting to see your build. If you have a specific need for detail shots of of some specific area let me know. The FL Air Museum has a real one outside and it's literally 5 minutes from my house. FYI: The cockpit looked stripped though...
Clifford Keesler Thanks Nathan, and welcome aboard. Welcome Roland. Thank you Danumurthi. Started in the the photo etch today. While waiting for some stuff to dry, I decided to install the main wheel wells, God what a freaking nightmare. Nothing fit the way it was supposed to, no wonder so many opt for the resin wheel well replacments. Finally got them in, but they are also going to require putty. I will get some pictures tomorrow. Who said Hasegawa kits were good? LOL. Actually I love their F-104 kit. I have their F-16 and F-86F which I have not built yet. I also forgot you do not get any weapons with them either. Luckly I have a set of F-14D weapons, but will have to buy an aftermarket weapons decal sheet. Ok rant over, will continue with the build tomorrow. I am sure not going to be defeated by a Hasegawa kit. LOL.
