The early P-51 always interested me since I saw this kit (or something similar) being the only model kit in stock at a JoAnn Fabrics as a kid. I didn't buy it then but now I have one that I found for cheap that came with a Verlinden resin engine. Also includes some vinyl masks which I may or may not decide to use. I can't seem to find many options for early P-51s with 20 mm cannons, so I'll likely be using the kit decals for this build. I intend for this to be my first "diorama" or "vignette," it'll be a simple display with the engine panels removed and the plane sitting on desert dirt. Might include some figures and other features to complete the display.
