Decided to scratch-build the thruster ports and tail cone for the AA-6 Acrid missiles for my FoxBat. The original missiles that came with the kit may as have well have been twinkies.

Added side thruster thingys.... scratch built from old sprew. Also re-engraved some pannel lines. The fins are still way too thick but I'm getting tired of fooling with these things... so its off to the paint booth!

Argh! Story of my life! Work my buut off trying to make a bland model look a lot better, and someone releases it with new tooling! Oh well. Do you kow the scale of the Kitty Hawk version?

Cool, hope to see it sometime. Maybe it will be at the IPMS US convention in Colorado in August this summer? I'm going to it!

Little by little I'm gettig to the point I can start painting this thing! I had to take a break when I had to go in for surgery on my plumbing a few weeks ago, and then my back gave out and I have been slowely recovering from that. Now I am getting a cold. Sheesh! What did I do to deserve this?

Got the pre-shading done and the canopy inside paint. I'm assuming its aqua blue, refference photos don;t show much. Next, the over-all paint color. Hopefully my preshading with show through!

Thanks guys, it was fun to weather... lots of streaks, rain drip marks, discolored panels, darkened panel lines... real "used" looking... I read that a lot of Russian planes were not housed in hangers and really took a beating from the elements.

Thanks, weathering is sure nice to help hide any flaws.... Hard to do that with new, shiny sport cars!

Thanks Es-Haq, I'd love to see a real FoxBat in person! Next is the Vought V-173 flying pancake!I think I'll incorporate a bottle of maple syurp with it!
